Customization FAQ's

Can I customize a UBH home plan?

Yes. Every UBH plan is a starting point. You can talk with your local Design Center about changes to the layout, square footage, roofline, porch, windows, finishes, and other features.

Can I bring my own house plan or sketch?

Yes. If you have a sketch, inspiration photo, or a set of plans, bring it to your Design Center. The UBH team can review what may be possible based on your land, budget, location, and building requirements.

What kinds of changes can I make to a UBH floor plan?

Common changes may include moving walls, adding rooms, changing ceiling heights, adjusting window placement, adding porches, modifying exterior styles, and personalizing interior finishes.

Are all customizations available on every home?

Not always. Some changes may depend on the home plan, structural requirements, code requirements, your land, your budget, and availability in your area.

Will customizations change the price of my home?

Yes. Changes to the plan, size, materials, features, or site conditions can affect the final price. Your Design Center can help you review options and understand pricing before you move forward.

Do I need to own land before customizing a plan?

UBH specializes in building on your land. If you already own land, your Design Center can help review your project location and next steps. If you are still looking for land, they can explain what to consider before choosing a plan.
